James “Jim” Alderman Sr., Owner and President of Alderman Farms (managed by father and son duo Jim Sr. and Jim Jr.) are third and fourth generation Florida Farmers.  Jim Alderman, Sr. is proud to be “Certified Organic” by QCS with Perfect scores for “Conventional Farms,” “Crew & Organic Farm,” and “Packing House” categories. In 2018 he built current packing house on 77 acres in the Ag Reserve, a 43,000 square foot structure which houses his business offices as well as packing facilities, pre-cooler and shipping operations.

Alderman Farms farms approximately 1,000 acres each year growing primarily organic vegetables in Palm Beach and Martin County.

Alderman Farm’s produce is farmed using conventional and organic farming methods.  Their largest crops grown organically include Green Beans, Eggplant, Bell Peppers, Mini Sweet Bell Peppers, Sweet Corn, Yellow Squash, Green Squash, Cherry Tomatoes, Roma Tomatoes, Grape Tomatoes, and Round Tomatoes.  Alderman Farms is well-known for their fresh herbs and best quality grape tomatoes in South Florida.  They are also growers of Basil, Parsley, Dill, Cilantro, and Mint.

Jim is a member of the Palm Beach Growers Advisory Committee, Palm Beach County Farm Bureau, and Florida Farm Bureau and serves on the Lake Worth Drainage District Board where he is the past Chairman of the Board. He is a past board member of the USDA Farmers Home Administration and past board member of Farm Credit of Florida.

He has been an active spokesperson for Palm Beach and Florida Farmers not just in the media, but also in Washington DC. Where he has given testimony on the plight of Florida Farmers as well as the impact COVID-19 has had on farmers.

Mr. Alderman is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  Alderman Farms has been farming in Florida for over 30 years.  Jim stated when attending the University of Florida in the late 1960s his agricultural economics professor told him “Always zig when the mob zags”.  Holding on to this thought he is still farming today.
